KMA Concrete Constructions pours driveways, house slabs, shed slabs, pathways and commercial ground slabs across St Marys. An established outer-western suburb with housing stock from the 1950s to 1980s, St Marys is seeing a renovation surge driven partly by proximity to Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek. The primary demand is driveway replacement on concrete that is now 40 to 60 years old. Operating since 1999, own crew, no subcontractors. Call 02 9054 3040 for a straight quote.

Looking for a Concreter Who Understands St Marys' Older Housing Stock?

KMA Concrete Constructions services St Marys for all residential and commercial concreting. NSW Lic. 219967c, operating since 1999. Own crew on every job.

St Marys is a major centre in Sydney's outer west - a well-established suburb with its own station on the Western Railway Line providing direct access to Parramatta and the CBD. The suburb has a mix of longer-term owner-occupiers and newer residents attracted by affordability and growing employment activity tied to Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek, approximately 10 kilometres away. A proposed rail link from St Marys station to the airport has been announced, further increasing interest in the area.

The housing stock tells the real story for concreting. St Marys grew organically through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. A significant proportion of the residential blocks have driveways and pathways that were poured 40 to 60 years ago - predating current Australian Standards, poured to specifications that were acceptable at the time but are now at the end of their structural life. This is not a suburb in the renovation wave. It is a suburb where the replacement cycle for concrete is already well underway.

KMA has been working across Penrith and Blacktown since 1999. The established outer-western corridor is where we spend most of our time.

My St Marys Driveway Was Poured in the 1970s. Does It Need to Come Out?

Almost certainly yes - but the honest answer requires looking at it.

Concrete poured in the 1960s and 1970s was specified to standards that predate AS3727 and modern sub-base requirements. On flat Cumberland Plain ground, that concrete has often survived reasonably well. But 50 years of load cycles, minor soil movement, tree root intrusion and weather have taken their toll. The tell-tale signs of a St Marys driveway that is past resurfacing and needs full removal:

  • Through-depth cracks running across or along the slab
  • Sections sitting at different levels to adjacent sections
  • The slab rocking or flexing under load
  • Edge failure where the perimeter has broken away
  • Large areas of spalling that expose aggregate across more than 20% of the surface
A slab showing any of these has compromised structural integrity. Resurfacing it is postponing the replacement at additional cost. KMA removes the old slab, prepares the sub-base for the actual conditions on that block, and pours a replacement specified to last another 30 to 40 years. Penrith Council Section 138 crossover approval is handled as part of the scope.

What About New Construction in St Marys?

New dwelling approvals are increasing across St Marys as the Badgerys Creek Airport investment drives residential and commercial construction. New house slabs, dual occupancy slabs and secondary dwelling pours are being added to blocks that have never had them, or replacing structures from the original 1950s to 1960s build.

New slabs across St Marys are poured to Australian Standards AS2870 and AS3600, working directly with your builder and certifier. We coordinate with the construction programme to ensure the slab is ready for frame on schedule. Learn more about our house slab services.

What About the Commercial and Industrial Corridor Near the M7?

St Marys sits adjacent to the M7 interchange and the Western Sydney employment corridor. The industrial and commercial precincts around the area generate demand for ground slabs, warehouse floors and commercial fitout pours. KMA carries WHS documentation, mix delivery records and certifier sign-off as standard on every commercial job we complete in this corridor.
